The Weight Loss Journal - Weekend Struggles
First, thank you for following the weight loss journal where I will share my thoughts concerning weight loss as I work to lose weight. My goal is to lose another 40 pounds after already losing 40 pounds over the past year. My weight loss journey has been full of ups and downs but I take it in stride because I'm not perfect and neither are you. But it's because of my imperfections and let downs that drove me to be overweight. I know how difficult it can be to lose weight especially if you’re not into fitness. But I can tell you that it is most satisfying to get into shape. It's like becoming a new person.
This week I wanted to talk about the weekend struggle. When the weekend comes around it's so easy to slip and indulge in unhealthy foods. I believe in a cheat meal once a week, but often times that can turn into multiple meals and possibly multiple cheap meals multiple days a week. This is most likely to occur on the weekends when your guard is down. You have to treat weight loss like a boxing match and never let your guard down. You have a roadmap to follow to deviate will only add time to your journey. If you’re not disciplined enough to only have one cheat meal a week then don't cheat at all. If you’re not strong enough to resist certain foods while you’re out enjoying yourself then don't go out.
Time and Season
There is a time and season for everything. The time right now is to be focused on weight loss which is an important life goal for me and I hope it’s a life goal for you as well. When people are having fun doing what they want to do remember that's how they want their lives to be and have no regard for your goals. When you’re disappointed at yourself damn near depressed they will still be partying like life is a joke. Don't focus on what they do, focus on yourself.
See I had to learn this time and time again. When the work gets hard I often try to find an escape only to be disappointed again by my choices. When I’m most successful is when I focused on achieving my goal and letting no one come in front of that including myself.
I bring up the weekends because it’s my lowest point every week and if you feel the same way this article hopefully will provide you some comfort and motivation to say that you can do anything you put your heart into. Now is not the time to fade, but to show up and show out. Be strong in your time of weakness. Anything worth achieving requires hard work and determination. I know your struggles because we both have the same struggles but I'm focused now. I hope you are as well.
